Air Valves perform two important functions in a piping system. They maintain system design efficiency and provide system protection. System efficiency is maintained by venting air via the air valves from the system that can restrict flow and increase pumping costs.
Protection is provided by exhausting and admitting air through the air valves during system operations including start-up, shutdown, and critical conditions such as power failures or line breaks. The exhausting and admitting of air during these conditions will reduce the potential for destructive surges and water hammer normally associated with uncontrolled air or a vacuum condition within the piping system.
Eighty years ago the specifier had only to pull out a standard swing check valve specification and add it to the system plans regardless of location or application. Today, however, engineers weigh the importance of slamming characteristics, headloss, cost of purchase, and cost of maintenance when making an air check valve selection.
Val-Matic has utilized the same criteria in the design of their seven different check valve lines. Available in a wide range of metallurgies, seating materials and options, Val-Matic is prepared to meet your air check valve needs - from potable water, to abrasive slurries, and even corrosive chemicals.
Quarter turn valves are designed to provide both on-off and process control functions in municipal and industrial water and wastewater. Val-Matic's Plug, Butterfly, and Ball valves are built using advanced manufacturing technologies and are certified to rigorous AWWA, ASME, and API industry standards to assure reliable performance in numerous applications and media including liquids, gases, and slurries. The valve seating systems are built with corrosion and wear resistant materials and are tested to provide zero leakage. Valve flow path geometries are optimized to provide exceptional flow control characteristics, ultra-low headloss, and energy conservation.
Val-Matic produces a wide variety of manual and power actuator valves and actuator valve parts that include traveling nut actuators, worm gear actuators, cylinders, and motors. In addition, Val-Matic valves are easily adaptable for mounting custom actuators such as: vane, spring-return, rack and pinion, electro-hydraulic, air/oil, and other specified cylinder or electric motor actuators. All actuator valve products can also be provided with a wide variety of accessories.
The VaultSafe® Family of Products are designed to protect potable water systems from contaminated flood waters, freezing temperatures and malicious contamination.
PDC's Butterfly Valves are applicable to these key applications and industries: water and wastewater; backwash valves; downstream hydrocarbons; food and beverage; energy and onsite utilities; life sciences and medical; mining, minerals, and metals; OEM/engineered solutions; sludge line to filter press; power generation; pulp and paper; automotive; chemical; altitude valve; marine; oil and gas; and steam.
PDC’s ElastoTITE™ Check Valve’s
new patented Anti-Fatigue Reinforcement Layer is substantially un-stretchable and
capable of resisting abrasion forces that are encountered while the valve is in operation, thus
increasing the life of the valve significantly.
The PDC Series pneumatic actuator MAGNUS FORCE uses the latest technology, combining intelligent design features with a compact footprint. MAGNUS FORCE is the perfect fit for practically any automation control system. PDC Series' rack and pinion actuators are offered in two styles: PDC Series Double Acting and PDC Series Spring Return.
PDCQ electric actuators are designed for quarter-turn operating applications on valves and dampers. Models come with output torques ranging from 6 N·m (53 in·lbs) to 3,500 N·m (31,000 in·lbs); high grade aluminum alloy enclosures; exteriors protected with a durable polyester powder coating; covers utilizing O-ring sealing and captured stainless-steel fasteners; and more.
The MS series Electro-Hydraulic actuator is an integrated actuator that adopts a
closed-loop hydraulic system. It follows the instructions of the electric input signal,
then drives the hydraulic cylinder by direct drive volume control (DDVC) technology.
These actuators are highly reliable, low maintenance, energy-saving, pollution
resistant, and more.
Thermoplastic Butterfly Valves are wafer style to fit between ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges. The disc is smooth and contoured for lowest possible pressure drop (highest Cv). The shaft is 410 S.S. and of one piece, through shaft design, with a square drive through the entire length of the blade.
Ball Check Valves are of thermoplastic construction. The body has full length ribs for maximum flow, minimum pressure drop, and to eliminate ball sticking and chatter. The ball is of solid thermoplastic material. Thermoplastic Swing Check Valves' flanged design employ a molded thermoplastic body, disc assembly, bonnet, and shaft. These valves have a full-faced disc seal and require low back pressure for drop-tight seating.
